Final Section -- The Maths (Part 2)
Reverse Maths: Your Tank Stats Mean Nothing If You Do Not Block
Players build 32k resist, 2k crit resist, 30k health... and still die fast.
Why? They are not using the strongest mitigation tool in PvP: block.
Simple numbers
Enemy hits you with a burst combo worth 20,000 raw damage.
- With resists: ~12,000 damage taken
- Without block: you eat the full 12,000
- With a quick block: ~6,000 damage taken
Key lesson: High resist without block is a net loss.
Stat Sheet vs "Hidden Power"
Your stat sheet shows max stats, Weapon/Spell Damage, penetration, resistances, crit chance, crit resist.
It does not show real fight multipliers: debuffs applied, mitigation buffs, block timing, LoS uptime, healing received modifiers, conditional damage reduction, burst windows.
Final Maths Summary (Cheat Sheet)
- Damage done = pressure after armor is removed
- Damage taken = tank stats plus block usage
- Stat sheet does not equal real build power
Example Maths Scenario (Why Pen > Raw Damage in PvP)
| Build Type | Wpn/Spell Damage | Penetration | Enemy Resist Left | 10k Tooltip Becomes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Build A (Damage Stack) | 6,000 | 10,000 | 22,000 | ~6,500 |
| Build B (Pen Stack) | 5,000 | 30,000 | 2,000 | ~9,500 |
Now Add Debuffs (Hidden Penetration)
Apply Major Breach (~6,000 resist reduction): 32,000 -> 26,000.
With 30,000 pen you are over-penetrating, which lets you trade some pen for sustain, damage, or healing and still hit hard.
